Legally in the USA, you can buy a motorcycle when you are 18 years of age. But to ride it on public roads, there is more that needs to be done before hitting the road. Motorcycles need registration and license plates if they are going to be driven by one person or two people together so do remember this process for yourself as well!

Motorcyclists must have a driver’s license with an endorsement for motorcycles. You can obtain this by passing the motorcycle written test and buying your permit, or you could take a Motorcycle Safety Foundation course to get certified in safety techniques.
Registration
Motorcycles and mopeds in Texas must be registered with the County Tax-Assessor Collector. After registration, a visible sticker will need to adhere to their license plate so that they are identifiable by law enforcement.
